George's New Look

Recently, George's hair has been looking a little....well...."mushroomy." It grows so quickly and seems to puff out within a week or two of a cut. Since his last haircut (before Halloween), I've been toying with the idea of buzzing it all off. When chatting with others about this idea I got a lot of push-back because his hair "is just so great." I must admit that a mom enjoys hearing these words, but there comes a point when you don't want your son to be "defined by his hair" (insert giggle here). So, yesterday I made an appointment and went for it.
After it was all said and done, I was quite pleased with the result. You can actually SEE George's face - his big, beautiful eyes and sweet lips. The biggest change is that he just looks like a boy....a real BOY. I find myself staring at him often, wondering where this new child came from....could this really be my George? Then, he starts making his demands of me and I realize, yes, this is still my boy and will be mine forever.
