Thankful for Jessica

It's hard for me to leave my babies. I miss them during the day when I'm at work, or out running errands, or even when I feel like I need some me time and choose to be alone; I miss them.
Thankfully, we have a wonderful person who works hard at loving them, keeping them happy, warm, fed and safe when we are not around: Jessica. I am so grateful we found her and that she found us. I am thankful my kids are so completely content and happy around her and that I do not have to worry one single bit once I close the door. Her presence in our lives make living with two little ones a lot easier - a lot more worry-free.
Today Jessica threw James a belated birthday party at the park they frequent (last week was too rainy and cold). She took him to the store to pick out the cake he wanted, brought a pinata filled with treats, and I'm sure did a whole lot more I am not even aware of to make sure he had a great time. All of James' friends were there to celebrate and sing songs. She took some video of the event and I could not help but post it. He had a fantastic time. Thank you so much Jessica!

This last one I am posting because it makes me giggle - G going after the little boy's hair. I mean, I feel bad for the poor kid but it just makes me laugh. He is definitely into grabbing at hair these days.

What's for Dinner?

Sometimes I seriously think I just might eat this kid. I guess he wants to give Popeye a run for his money with those chunka-chunka wrists.

A Couple of the Many Ways I Spend My Mornings. And Evenings.

{Please disregard my goofy voice and whatever language I am speaking in order to bring on all the fun; I just adore making this child laugh}

Photo Project 2010

I'm determined to get some of our old family photos scanned and have decided 2010 is the year to do it. Okay, so this leaves me with a big window to finish being that we still have loads of time left, but I still feel like it's a solid goal. I started the project tonight and really love looking through all the old photographs, hoping I might possibly be able to jump right in and live that moment over again. Seeing all of our smiley faces, me loving on my mom, dad, and sisters, the overall tone of the pictures make me feel quite nostalgic, even a little sad, for time lost, though not forgotten. Now that I have my own family, I can only imagine the hopes and dreams my parents had for their little ones and the sacrifices they made to ensure the happiest childhoods possible.
Below is my first round of scanning. These are in no particular order, but it just so happens the ones I have are mostly from when I was a baby through elementary school. As evidenced below, I love how my mom made notes on the back of most all the photos, detailing person(s), year, and possible situation...so cute.

Two years ago today a 6lb 12oz 19 inch miracle came into the world and introduced me to Absolute Joy. I've never recovered.

Sign that you are getting bigger

Much to my dismay, someone is growing around here. Ok, both of them are growing but one at a much faster rate than I'd care to witness. My baby boy just grew out of these, MY favorite shoes. Before they got packed away, I was sure to document their state. Guess he'll just have to rock it elsewhere.

February Day at the Beach

I'm finally getting around to posting photos of adventures over the last couple of months. Whew! Starting with the February visit by Aunt Shasha, Zebi, and Orion, hopefully I'll be caught up in no time! It's tough juggling life with a hubby, two kids, a little bit of work, and everything else that goes with it.
I had been wanting to check out a beach not too far from us that seemed to have all the elements of a relaxing beach day: the ocean, sand, clean bathrooms, few people, and a short walk from parking to beach. The seven of us piled into the car and drove ten minutes north (another ingredient of a successful beach trip) where we played in the sand and splashed in the waves. James had a grand time with his Papa in the water and with his cousins. George was a little more work but it was all worth it to have the family together - Aunt Shasha's help was tremendously helpful - thank you, Shasha!
