Sometimes he gets mad.
Cash turned 4 weeks this past Wednesday. Once again, I feel like time is flying by so fast. He's a great little eater and sleeps most of the days and nights away (that's not to say I'm not up at all hours throughout the night, because I am). I was actually getting a little concerned about all his sleeping but I should probably just relish the quiet time; I don't recall my first two sleeping quite as often though. He has started to look around a little bit more. Sometimes he just stares at the light as it bounces around outside the window and sometimes looks around in no particular direction. Today we had some tummy time that seemed to go pretty well. After that I put him in the carseat and we ventured out to run an errand and pick up James from school. As with all babies, when Cash gets hungry he gets MAD. Unfortunately I found myself in this situation on my way to get James. It's no fun to listen to a crying baby in the backseat of your car. It makes me want to bite all my fingernails off.

Appreciation
The woman in this photograph was a HUGE help to us right after Cash was born. Meet Aunt Shasha, Fran's sister who often comes to visit from Michigan with her two boys Zeb and Orion. This past time she arrived solo to assist us with James, George, and the new babe. I cannot begin to thank her for all of her time and devotion she displayed during the week she was here. Some of her acts of kindness included: waking up with James and George on a daily basis (usually around 6:00 a.m. and maybe even earlier), feeding them breakfast, reading countless books, bathing them, consoling George in the wee hours of the morning when he got sick, watching Cash while I snuck out to do some girly stuff (amongst other errands), and basically just being present for anything that might make our lives a little bit easier.
Aunt Shasha, the boys absolutely adore you and we can't wait to see you again in October. Thank you so much for all that you did for us!

All About George (Mostly)
This post is (mostly) dedicated to my Georgeous. First, I wanted to share a post that my super-talented friend, Tory, of Photography by Victoria, put together for us after she came to photograph Cash, the boys, and me 10 days after Cash was born. If anyone is looking for a newborn photographer in the Southern California area I highly recommend her! You can see the post here: Queen of Her Castle. I will treasure these photographs forever.
Next up I have some images to share that I shot of my George last week. These were taken using Kodak BW400 CN on my Canon 1V. I really love this film, even though it is not a "true" BW. I overexposed it by two stops. I really like the way they turned out, but I'm wondering...what do you think? Are you a fan?
Overall George has been really great with the new baby. He always asks to touch his head or his nose whenever I am holding him and does it with the most care he could possibly demonstrate for an almost 2-year-old. He's curious about his eating and helps me out by voluntarily throwing away Cash's dirty diapers (not bad, huh?). On the other hand, I've noticed he has become a bit more clingy to me and asks me to pick him up a lot more. It was tough as first because George is a hefty boy and I wasn't cleared to pick up anything heavier than my newborn. Today I decided to spend some one-on-one time with my second born and we ventured all the way across the street to the park to play some ball and ride his scooter. It was such much need time away together, and I enjoyed every moment.

Okay, I can't help but post some of James and George together. They are really starting to play nicely together for longer periods of time. George is all about doing what James does and it is so cute. After all the hard work (still on-going), I am so happy they are close together in age. I think they will be the best of pals throughout life.

Poppy & Duke
Our dear friends the Friskes came for a month-long visit from Richmond, VA starting just a few short days before Cash arrived. I was dying to get my hands on their beautiful kids before they left:

Friends and Cousins
These guys are great pals. James lets out a shriek every time his cousin, Marcello, comes over to the house or he goes to his for a playdate. It's pretty cute to watch them interact; that is, until things start to go south usually over a car or a dinosaur, but that typically takes a while. George is hoping to one day be fully included in the club but for now just kinda hangs on the outer lines waiting for the go-ahead.

I've been getting some grief about not posting some face shots of little man Cash. Most of the time this boy is sleeping, and I didn't want to bore you with too many sleepy baby pictures. However, I did pick up this roll today and it had a couple of snapshots of his eyes open.
This next one he kinda has silly lips but still cute to this Mama!

Self-Portrait With Baby Cash
This was taken with my Mamiya 7ii, 65mm 4.0 lens, using Tri-X 400; self-timer. I really like experimenting with this function, but I hold my breath until I get my film back. Here I was testing out zone-focusing. I'm pretty sure I had the aperture set at f8. Though there are not a lot of "keepers," having just one image that speaks to me is enough motivation for me to keep trying.

There's A Whole Lotta Sleeping Going On
Well, it seems as though every image I take these days are of a dozing baby. I'm sure not complaining but be forewarned! He's cute no matter what to me.
